Sound familiar?
It was never about bad parenting.
Tablets are built with no ending. The next video starts by itself, so when the screen goes off, you become the ending. Your child’s brain is still learning how to stop and cope with disappointment, so the meltdown isn’t defiance. It’s a hard transition with no soft landing, and that’s something you can design for.
The screaming
“Time’s up.” Two small words, and the room explodes.
The guilt
You replay it long after everyone has calmed down.
The bargaining
“Five more minutes” turns into twenty, and nobody wins.
You don’t need to throw the tablet away. You need a better way to turn it off.

No. This isn’t a ban. The Reset brings screen time down gradually, and the aim is a child who can hand the device back without the house falling apart.
The guide includes a calm, safety-first approach. It is practical guidance, not medical advice. If physical meltdowns are frequent or getting worse, or you notice self-injury, ongoing sleep problems or big changes in mood, please speak to your child’s doctor or a qualified professional.
